Timeouts
Agent disconnect: If no agents view the session for 20 minutes, the session closes automatically.
End‑user disconnect: Session remains active for 10 minutes to allow reconnection. Agents can extend by 5, 10, or 20 minutes from the toolbar.
Session Idle Time‑out Seconds: Default 14,400 seconds (4 hours).
New Session Timeout: Default 3,600 seconds (1 hour) if no one connects.
Auto‑close Timeout: Default 60 seconds after session ends; “File Retention” controls whether downloads persist.
Keyboard Mapping
Controls how keyboard input is interpreted. This also affects typing inside nested virtual machines.
Agent’s Keyboard (default): Uses the agent’s layout. May cause missed keystrokes in VMs.
User’s Keyboard: Uses the end user’s layout. Fixes VM input but maps to the user’s language.
Recommendation for VM control
Switch Keyboard Mapping to User’s Keyboard when controlling a VM. Change globally in Organization > Settings and Policies > Remote Support Settings or per session under Advanced Settings > Mapping.
Privacy Curtain
Requires administrator enablement and Remote Control to be ON.
Agent toggles Privacy Curtain; user must Allow. Hides content on all connected displays.
Can be turned off by the agent or via the client shortcut on the user device.
Can be overridden by pressing
Ctrl+Alt+Del
on the user device.
Auto Login
Saves credentials on the client during the session to enable reboot and automatic desktop login.
Credentials are stored locally, encrypted, and removed at session end.
Prerequisites: Remote Control and UAC must be enabled.
Reboot to Safe Mode
Available after UAC escalation.
Requires a hard‑wired network connection. Wi‑Fi is disabled in Safe Mode.
Clipboard
When enabled, the agent can copy/paste to and from the remote device.
The agent can copy content from the user device to the agent device after linking the clipboard.
Toggle off to prevent data transfer via clipboard during sensitive work.
Conclusion
Set defaults to match security policy, then adjust per session as needed. Prioritize keyboard mapping for VM scenarios, enable Privacy Curtain for privacy, and use Auto‑login and Safe Mode only when requirements are met.
