# Beam Overview

## ScreenMeet Beam Overview

ScreenMeet Beam is an optional, paid add-on to ScreenMeet Support that enables true unattended remote access. It allows agents to connect to a device even when no end user is present. This is ideal for managing infrastructure, kiosks, remote employee machines, or VIP endpoints that require on-demand administrative access.

To enable this functionality, the **Beam client must be installed on the remote device**. During installation, each device is registered to a **Beam Group** using a unique Group Key. The Beam Group controls who is allowed to access the device.

## Deployment Workflow

The Beam deployment process includes two key steps:

### 1. Group Setup and Access Management

Before installing the client, create Beam Groups that define who can access which devices. Each group generates a unique **Device Group Key**, which is used to bind devices to the group during installation.

### 2. Client Installation and Configuration

After group setup, install the Beam Client on macOS or Windows devices. During installation, each device is linked to the proper Beam Group using the **Device Group Key**, either via the graphical interface or deployment scripts.
