Page Layouts for Related Objects

Now that we've added our data relationship between Case and ScreenMeet Live Session, we will configure how the related lists will show up on our Case Page.

Configuring Page Layout for Cases

  1. Sign in as a System Administrator
  2. Navigate to any Case Page
  3. Click on the gear at the top right then click Edit Object; this will bring you to the Object Manager details for the Case Object.
  4. Click on Page Layouts on the left
  5. Click into the Layout you wish to edit
  6. Scroll the Related Lists section into view
  7. Click on the little wrench Icon on the ScreenMeet Case Sessions related list
  8. Add the following columns into the field view:
    • ScreenMeet Case Session: Case Session
    • ScreenMeet Live Session: Live Session (this will provide the link to the ScreenMeet Session Object)
    • ScreenMeet Live Session: Status
    • ScreenMeet Live Session: Created Date
  9. Set the Sort By ScreenMeet Live Session: Created Date and the order as Descending this will show the most recently created sessions at the top.
  10. Click OK
  11. Click Save on the Page View
  12. Now, when new ScreenMeet sessions are created from the Case view, your related list should look like this. Clicking on the link from the Live Session column will take you to the ScreenMeetLive Session Details.

Adding Related Objects to the ScreenMeet Live Session Layout

  1.  Open a ScreenMeet Live Session in Lightning
  2. Click on the Gear in the top right then click Edit Page
  3. Add a new Tab or Section called Related
  4. Drag the Related Lists component onto your new section or Tab:
  5. Click on Save then back
  6. You should now see related lists show up for ScreenMeet Live Sessions
  7. Now, lets configure the Page Layout to get the desired fields to show up on our ScreenMeet Case Sessions related list 
  8. While on the ScreenMeet Live Session page, click the gear from the top right then click on Edit Object.
  9. Click on Page Layouts then click on Live Session Layout
  10. Scroll the Related Lists section into view
  11. Click the wrench on the ScreenMeet Case Sessions related list
  12. Choose the following columns:
    • ScreenMeet Case Session: Case Session (default)
    • Case: Number
    • Case: Owner
    • ScreenMeet Case Session: Created Date
  13. Set the Sort field as Descending by the ScreenMeet Case Session:Created Date field to show the newest created relations at the top.
  14. Click OK
  15. Click Save on the page layout
  16. Your related list should now look like this from the ScreenMeet Live Session object - providing an easy way to navigate to the Case where the session originated:
